At Nelson Wood Shims, we believe that the talent and dedication of our employees drive success. We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator to join our growing, 100% employee-owned team! We are seeking an organized, dependable professional who is committed to accuracy. As part of our office team, you’ll help ensure that orders move smoothly from sales to delivery, supporting both our customers and internal teams. This role also provides support across general office functions.

Duties/Responsibilities

Order Processing and Shipping Coordination (80-90%):

    • Review and process customer sales orders with accuracy and timeliness.
    • Coordinate and schedule deliveries by brokering freight with carriers.
    • Process invoices on the day of shipment to ensure accurate and timely billing.
    • Troubleshoot shipping challenges and provide solutions to customer inquiries.
    • Prepare shipping reports as needed for other departments.
    • Partner with sales, production, and other office staff to ensure smooth order flow.

Office Support (10-20%):

    • Answer and direct phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
    • Assist with file maintenance and recordkeeping.
    • Provide general administrative support as needed to ensure smooth office operations.
    • Willingly take on other office tasks and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preference for 2+ years of professional work experience.
  • Prior experience in processing sales orders, freight coordination, and invoicing strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and information.
  • Display a strong sense of ownership and commitment to the successful completion of any assigned duty, regardless of its size or complexity.
  • Exhibit a can-do attitude, taking initiative to address challenges and explore solutions independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
